What is RPL?
RPL is an assessment process that recognises your prior studies and industry experience to determine if they meet the requirements of a qualification. When you submit an expression of interest for RPL, you may be awarded a ‘credit’ for previous study that may result in a reduction of the amount of units required to complete your qualification.
Why undertake RPL?
- formal recognition of your skills and knowledge gathered through your work experience
- an internationally recognised qualification from the Asia-Pacific region’s leading insurance education and training provider
- opportunities for career advancement
- a domestic qualification for overseas professionals (working in Australia, New Zealand or elsewhere)
- ANZIIF membership with accompanying membership benefits
- ANZIIF post-nominal for use on your business cards, email signature and LinkedIn
- ANZIIF digital badge to display and share your professional achievements
Can I receive credit?
If you have completed a unit or units of competency from another Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that is the same or equivalent to an ANZIIF competency / Skills Unit, then you may be eligible for credit.
Credit may only be applied if the unit or units of competency attained is from a qualification on ANZIIF’s scope of registration.
If your application is approved by ANZIIF, you may receive credit for one or more Skills Units.
If your application to attain a qualification or Skills Unit through RPL or credit is not successful, you will need to enrol into, and complete, the relevant Skills Unit(s) in order to complete your qualification.

If you have five years' relevant experience in the insurance industry, you may be eligible to seek full or partial RPL and/or credit transfer for a qualification or for a Skills Unit.
